What is MyPeakExperience?

MyPeakExperience is the online location for you to share your photos, videos, comments and audio about your favourite Peak District places.

Tell others about the Peak District’s beautiful landscapes, varied wildlife and rich cultural heritage. Share with the world what you love and what you did.

You can upload photos, video clips, audio files or post your comments about any of the Peak places included in MyPeakExperience. Each place has a page in a similar way that a person has a page on Facebook or MySpace or a member of flickr has a photostream.

If you already have photos on flickr or video on YouTube it is straight forward to link them into the site. Simply copy and paste the URL of the video or photo and paste it into the appropriate media box of the upload page.

For example to link a YouTube video about Arbor Low go to the 'More of your photos, videos and audio files…' section of the Arbor Low page. Click on 'Upload a photo, video or audio file'. Paste the video's URL which will be something like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qqHqe-PMgfM into the 'Other Media' box. Click on upload and the video should appear on the Arbor Low page.

If the place you want to tell others about isn’t here, you can simply add it in a few easy steps. You can also add places to Google Earth, online maps, Facebook. There is even a little interactive map application you can add to your own website, blog or profile page.

All you have to do to get started is join which takes just a few seconds. As a member you control the editing of any sites you’ve added while others can contribute photos, videos, audio files and words.
