An odd gritstone cap that rises out of the landscape like a ruined castle. Close by is Nine Stones Close (The Grey Ladies) stone circle. The association between the two is plain.

How to get there: Close to Birchover. Park in the unmade layby on the B5056 near the turning for Dudwood Farm. Follow the track uphill and the stride will come into view when you reach the top.
