Bamford

Bamford Edge is often overlooked (quite literally) in favour of it's big brother Stanage Edge. However, the views from here are superb and unlike Stanage, you'll most often have the place to yourself. The views extend down Derwent Valley, across Hope Valley to Mam Tor and up Ladybower Reservoir to Bleaklow and Howden Moor. There are numerous cairns and a small stone circle near the southern end of the edge (buried deep in the heather). From here you can also walk on the Hordron Edge and the northern end of Stanage Edge.

How to get there: Take the minor road up hill just before you reach the village of Bamford, just opposite the Yorkshire Bridge pub. Continue up this road, you'll eventually come out of the trees and reach a small plantation near a farm. Just past here is a parking space near the access stile. Follow any of the paths leading from the stile.
