Ashover is the second largest parish in the country and now you can delve into the minds of residents past and present during a short (1.5 mile), but fascinating audio trail around the village. You will hear the stories of eight people whose memories of the village stretch right back to the very early years of the 20th century when things were very different. Visit www.audiotrails.co.uk for more information.

How to get there: Ashover is signposted off the A632 between Chesterfield and Matlock. The audio trail starts at the church and a map and directions are available to download via a link from www.audiotrails.co.uk

These people have chosen Ashover as one of their favourites

Yes it does. There is a nice little description of how it was discovered by one of the residents of the village as well as the former headmaster explaining how they nearly had there own swimming pool - but not by choice!

Does the rock art found in the school make it into the audio trail too?
