The grey ladies. This bronze age circle boasts the four largest still standing stones of any circle in the area with the fifth largest nearby. A truly magical place and a place to be enjoyed by all the family with the mystical Robin hoods stride, a natural rocky outcrop with two large stone pillars often likened to chimneys dominating the landscape.

How to get there: From Bakewell take the A6 for Matlock, then just past Haddon hall the right turn B5056 winster. You then take the next left, a bridge over the river. After about 200 metres take the first right up the steep lane with the vehicle restrictions signs. Carry on and the first junction you come to is by an old barn, take a left here. Follow the narrow and twisty lane for around a mile and a half, through the woodland till robin hoods stride comes into view on your left, two tall natural stone towers atop a rocky outcrop. Parking very limited, Please don't block the farmers gate. Os OL24 250660
