Well Dressings, flower power in pictures
Added by Bill Bevan
If you visit the White Peak villages between May and September you're bound to come across strikingly decorated wells and water troughs. Dressing wells with flower pictures may be an ancient pagan custom and is unique to the Peak District. There are over 50 well dressings each year but their beauty doesn't last long as the flowers wilt after a few days. Each village chooses different themes every year and are proud of their creations. Its worth getting out and seeing a few.
