Community Guidelines

These Community Guidelines are here to help you understand what it means to be a member of MyPeakExperience. Don't forget that your use of MyPeakExperience is subject to these Guidelines and our Terms of Use

Some DOs and DON'Ts to remember while using MyPeakExperience:

Dos

  • Play nice
  • We're a community of many types of people, who all have the right to feel comfortable and who may not think what you think, believe what you believe or see what you see. So, be polite and respectful in your interactions with other members.
  • Upload photos and videos that you've taken
  • Respect the copyright of others. This means don't steal photographs that other people have taken and pass them off as your own. You can ofcourse link to photos and videos on other public websites such as flickr and YouTube as long as you asknowledge the fact.
  • Link back to MyPeakExperience when you post your content elsewhere
  • The MyPeakExperience service makes it possible to post content hosted on MyPeakExperience to outside websites. However, pages on other websites that display content hosted on MyPeakExperience must provide a link back to MyPeakExperience from each photo to its page on MyPeakExperience.
  • Enjoy MyPeakExperience!
  • See the world through other eyes, participate, find your muse, and expand your horizons!

Don'ts

  • Upload anything that isn't yours
  • This includes other people's photographs and/or stuff that you've collected from around the Internet. You can make a link to something else published elsewhere on the internet as along as this acknowledged.
  • Use your account to host web graphics like logos and banners
  • Your account will be terminated if you use it to host graphic elements of web page designs, icons, smilies, buddy icons, forum avatars, badges and other non-photographic elements on external websites.
  • Vent your frustrations, rant or bore the brains out of other members
  • MyPeakExperience is not a venue for to you harass, abuse, impersonate, or intimidate others. If we receive a valid complaint about your conduct, we will send you a warning or terminate your account.
  • Use MyPeakExperience for Commercial Purposes
  • MyPeakExperience is for personal use only. If you sell products, services or yourself through your content, we will terminate your account.
  • Upload photos or videos that include frontal nudity, genitalia and/or "intimate moments" between consenting partners in public areas of MyPeakExperience
  • If you do we will delete these photos or videos and remind you of this Guideline. If you don't heed our warning and continue to post similar content public, we'll terminate your account without warning.
  • Upload content that is illegal
  • If you do, your account will be deleted and we'll take appropriate action that may include reporting you to the authorities.

Reporting Other People

including their content and behavior

If you see or read anything on MyPeakExperience that offends you flag the item as "offensive" by clicking on the "Report this page" or "Report this comment" link. If you think there's immediate cause for concern, you can report content and/or someone's behavior to the Peak District Interpretation Partnership by emailing peak.experience@peakdistrict.gov.uk.

Reporting Copyright Infringement

If you see your own photographs or videos on MyPeakExperience and have not uploaded them yourself or given your consent for them to be uploaded please contact them and politely ask them to remove it. If that doesn't work, please email peak.experience@peakdistrict.gov.uk with a Notice of Copyright Infringement.

You may feel tempted to post an entry in the comments about what's happening, but that's not the best way to resolve a possible copyright problem. We don't encourage singling out individuals or their items.

In Conclusion

We want everyone to have a good time and to be able to share in the enjoyment of the Peak District landscape, wildlife and cultural heritage through www.MyPeakExperience.org.uk. If you don't feel that you can keep by our Community Guidelines as outlined above then do not register as a member of MyPeakExperience.
